When i bought my 1250 GS Rallye i also bought the racks to enable me to fit my ADV luggage to it. Went to put the top box on last night and when i fitted it it's loose and moves around quite significantly. When it was fitted to my GSA it was a tight fit with no movement at all, now theres at least 3-4 mm movement left to right when fitted to the rack.

I can only assume there is a slight difference in the new rack to the old one.. Its going in for it's first service on Sat and i've asked the dealer to check the rack and fit a new box to it to see if the issue is still there, if it is then the issue is with the rack not the box...

Anyone else had this issue?

I have fitted my old top case on my new 1250 GSA and it’s just as secure on both.

New top box? Old top box?

Om my previous GSA LC I had a top box that had suffered from an impact from behind causing the brackets underneath of the box to be bent a little.

Old top box from my 1200 GSA, although it's in as new condition as i never use it unless i'm taking the wife as a pillion. It's never had any type of impact or been dropped so don't understand why it's loose??

Well, whatever the cause may be, it seems like something has been bent or stretched.
The 1200 and 1250 rack is the same.
In order to rule out the rack, perhaps a test of another top-box should be tested. If the borrowed top-box does not fit either there must be a rack issue. Otherwise the culprit will either be the claw or the front feet of the box that for some reason has become knocked about.
I rule out that your mrs. is a 500 pund specimen that has pushed the box rewards :aidan

are there not little rubber buffers on the bottom?,fell of in storage maybe
