I've got a LC 1200 GS TE, complete with vario panniers. I'm conteplating getting a top box but don't like the plastic mass of the vatio one. I have learnt that the Adventure model, with coded keys, won't fit onto a bike with vario pannier mounts.

So, if I am to keep the panniers, which metal topbox would you recomend? I want something that will hold a helmet. Ideally I'd like something akin the Touratech or Metal Mule version to maintain to city overlander look :augie

How about the Givi Trekker:

Have the 46 litre version which I am looking to sell shortly :D

Isn't that one of those beer cooler things that Americans and Aussies throw in the back of their pickup trucks on the way to a beach barbecue...? :augie

Givi Trekker Outback from native Viking Northumberland. Biggest will take two full faced lids. Nice bloke to boot.

Want one that will take 2 full face helmets - so buying the Trekker 52 ;)

Got one and it's perfect. Looks bigger than it is, but loads of room to store stuff.

Recommend it

The very same top box has just arrived on my doorstep.................. It is a tad on the large size !, but looks better than the normal Trekker....... IMHO.

Plus 1 for the trecker, I have the normal size, and it takes one flip top no probs.

+1 for the Trecker. I also have the 52 ltrs which is massive but fits two lids plus small gear. I am not that keen on top boxes but as they are so practical for long journeys I just went for it
