The LC top case clamps straight on to the rack itself whereas the pre LC one secures to a plate which in turn is bolted on to the rack

Defiantly won't fit I've just found out for myself.
Btw I opted for the Givi trekker out back 42l rarther than the BMW one. It's better made, usefully bigger matches the panniers and cheaper. I used a universal mounting plate bolted onto the rack. Perfect.

I think cymarc makes adaptor plates to allow the old box to fit the newer bike. Might be worth a look on the website or give Mark Hooton a call or pm.

Easy enough to make up a couple of plates and some spacers to bolt onto the LC rack and then attach the top box plate.
