For my VOSA import form I need the max declared speed in MPH and revs on a 02 GS 1150 ADV...

Does anyone have that info to hand ??

Cheers

Do you mean whats printed on the speedo and rev counter - or BMW official specs

The technical handbook for my Y2K 1150 gives a TUV accepted top speed of 121MPH.That equates to about 5200 RPM in 6th gear.Hope that helps.:thumb

1150 should do better in 5th than in 6th in standard spec. 6th is too long and doesn't put enough HP on the road for engine to pull against the wind :D

That's why the 1100 is faster (122mph BMW official spec) with proper 5th that is the last gear, less gear changes & better power delivery for the on/offroad, it has shorter 1st too :thumb . And that's why lot of 1150 blokes put the R850 bevel box to get similar gearing to the 1100 :D

Dunno about the shortened 6th 1150ADV tho, it could be faster top speed than the standard 1150 me thinks(?)

Anyways, top speed is just an academical spec, more to the "horny chav" sportsbikes field oriented. Better gearing and thus the power delivery inbetween is what really matters. Why you ask? :)

This is from the Underseat Handbook

A bit more. Those top gear roll on figures for the Adventure are significantly faster than the standard 1150 :thumb

True, Rob, but the 4th & 5th gear roll-ons from 60-140kph are significantly slower & that seems odd. I'd expect the longer 6th to give slower "top" gear acceleration, but wouldn't have expected the others to be so different...

Looks like the Adv's are significantly slower than the std 1150 in the real world. Must be the extra weight/wind resistance of the larger tank...;)
