Topbox problem

Hi all

OEM R1150gs topbox is proving very difficult to remove. The handle that is supposed to turn anti clockwise will simply not budge and I cannot release the box. The main lift handle for opening the box is already damaged and I'm looking to fit a Givi this weekend. Any suggestions on how I get this thing off! The lock is in the open position alright the lever is not budging.

BTW, have been trying to get order one of these box below from Czech rep but language difficulties made it impossible. Pretty good box for those interested, have seen on e in the flesh in Dublinand very impressive. Huge, 61lt.

They often seize due to lack of use - people leave them in place for ages and only use the lid lock.
When they come to remove the box the mechanism is fecked due to drying out and corroding.

Wanted to be sure i hadn't missed something simple. Got it off with some bullin' this morning. Pretty poor build on these. Bring on the bigger, easier and better lookin' Givi!

Another thread resurrection

I got a spare OEM topcase with the bike only it didn't come with a key. I thought I might find one at Motorworks but I was wrong. I'm guessing it can be changed as there's access to the barrel. Does anybody know of any online places that have them in stock?

The only item I could find was a - topcase locking mechanism (R850/1100/1150RS/RT) | LUA17074 £14.30 INC VAT - This is the mechanism for locking the top box to the bike - not what I'm after. Am I just not seeing it?
