Hi,

I`m considering getting a smallish hard top box, something like a Givi one, & was wondering what experience people have of these? How would I fix it to the bike, original rack or Givi rack, and what extras do these need to fit.
I`ve seen a couple for sale for about £40ish & they look good value & practical for the smallish things I carry, maps, bait box for work, other assorted junk I normally fill my pockets with :D

Cheers

Lee

I have a 55ltr Givi Top Box monokey system which works great for me. No reason to think that a smaller one would not be as good. You will find more details on sizes etc on the Givi website.

have a look at this Thread.
I got a 'GIVI 35L TOPCASE FLOW' which is great, comes with a little adaptor which screws onto a 1150 nicely.

Oddly enough these are only for bikes with engines up to 500cc
 Still, it hasn't fallen off yet.

I installed a Pelican case 1150 model. Just drilled four holes applied some sealant and bolted it right to the existing rack.

Givi boxes are OK but they seem a bit weak to me. Several people on here have said they've chucked their BMW cases down the road without major damage, however a friend dropped her bike with a givi case on and the locking mechanism broke badly.

The mechanism on the BMW case seems better protected, and the case in general is more sturdily made. I'm well please with mine so far.

However you can get a Givi box that holds two full face lids, the BMW top box will only just hold one.
