Folks now the 800GS is out of warranty i propose to do my own spanner work, services etc. Having done a course on motorcycle maintenance ive decided its not rocket science and i'm gonna have a go. ( I wasn't that great technically before and still wouldn't attempt much above oil, filters, pads n plugs) but that said i need some advice about where and which torque wrench to buy.
As you are all probably aware there are lower scale ones 5-25 nm( covering front disc bolts and oil filter 8 and 14 nm respectively) or upper / larger what ever its called from 28 upwards ( Covering front axle bolt, drain plug up to rear axle bolt at 100 nm )
Which one would you advise? am i missing the point and use a WTF attitude and just use a spanner (costly if i mess the drain bolt threads up) .
All nm readings are correct at time of publish from Haynes with a load of white wine on board and watching the footie
Cheers
Steve
