KTM 500 EXC-F 6 days

I have just heard from the Dealer, the bike is en route from :bounce1Austria

My challenge will be to ride every day !

Invite from Tejeda bar owner for Sunday ride out with local club

remember the bar owner who was over generous with the wine on the last night, i think his name was Renee? , anyway last year he kindly invited us to ride out with the local Tejeda off road club this year on the Sunday morning, if all the Tossers going fancy a days ride with the local club? perhaps our leader (Colonel von Strohm) :augie could inquire on our behalf: looking forward to it:beerjug:

If you think that I'm trolling around all the bars in Competa looking for a guy called Renee, ............

:friday

Besides, I'm having a day with Trailblazers in August. Graham will show me a few new trails!

:moped:

renee

Been watching the Tour de France

You'll be fine!

PM on its way.

Greg

Been watching the Tour da France this week and have noted that on some days where the start is treacherous or narrow, they implement a neutralised zone where no overtaking is allowed until the route widens out. After last year's first kilometer of Tossers in Tejeda and the injuries & pain sustained, surely it makes sense this year to implement the same regulation. Leaving 6 days 7hours and 55 minutes for us to ride with care free abandonment?

Mr Emsley reports that he is determined to ride a full week!

He'll need to sort:

  • work commitments
  • dodgy 'mousses'
  • over application of red mist

:D

sounds like a plan. certainly leaving gaps for the dust to settle is a good idea.

The Reservación Nacional de Sierra de Tejeda is a Spanish National Park in Andalucia about the size of an English county. It offers mile after mile of both easy and difficult trail riding. The Tejeda is used by a number of British organisations for trail riding including Trailblazers, Andalucian Trail Tours and Redtread.

For the 4th year in succession, I'm going to take a week down there in October and I invite like-minded people to join me.

It'll work like this:

  • I have rented a big villa in Competa, Andalucia. The villa sleeps 16 but I am limiting the accomodation to just 11 riders
  • You'll need a lightweight trail bike
  • Bikes will be professionally transported in a closed lorry from a UK pick-up point to the villa in time for your arrival. At the end of the week they will be transported back to the same RV point. You will need to get your bike to and from the RV point at the designated times.
  • One bag of riding gear can be transported in the truck.
  • You fly to Malaga to arrive on the morning of Saturday 1 October. I've arranged a minibus transfer for transport to/from the villa (about 40 miles away)
  • At the villa you'll share a room with one other person. 10 people will share the three bathrooms (one room, mine(!!), has en-suite).
  • You'll get fed and watered 3 times a day - breakfast and dinner in the evening. A packed lunch will also be provided. Catering will be done by local staff that I have hired.
  • In the unlikely event that any of you wish to partake of alcohol, you buy your own
  • You ride wherever and whenever you want, but I'll be out on the trails each day.
  • On afternoon of Saturday 8th October you fly home from Malaga

The cost will be £665 per person. What's included;

  • Bike and luggage transport (one large bag only please)
  • Airport transfers
  • Villa rental including linen and towels
  • All food and water

What's NOT included:

  • Flights
  • Alcohol
  • Insurances

Last year's ride report is here. I have booked the same villa.

I already have a number of confirmed riders and would be interested in hearing from anybody else who wishes to join this trip. PMs please.

Greg

Reckon this pic will be a sea of orange this year

<a href="https://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/jPItvYHPJfE-36nOVSGUiA?feat=embedwebsite"><img src="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-K5nJyysq5kE/TiHsUBG0QuI/AAAAAAAAAIw/p-gIWitHpfk/s400/orange.JPG" height="203" width="400" /></a>

It was nice to see some variety of bikes on the trip last year,But I reckon this year it will wall to wall Orange. I recall Austrian proverb say "newer the orange bike, more time rider spend at A&E" :augie

If you are all going Orange perhaps I should buy this?
