... Tried this in 'Vendors' ... maybe someone here can help

... One of my motivations for buying my 12GS was the niggling suspicion that it would be possible to mount a guitar, in a hard-case, to the RHS pannier fixings (with mods).

... I'm heading back to UK this weekend (Dec 9th) and want to explore the possibilities when I get home. I'll be able to supply a moulded case fitted for the guitar I want to transport (I'll need to do a special water sealing job on it).

... Has anyone in this august forum handled such a project?
... Is there an off the peg solution?
... Any sensible suggestions from the assembled Sages ...(apart from stop that bloody racket, or, have you ever considered taking up the harmonica?)

... Suggestions on how to take it 'up the harmonica' might also be interesting!!! :eek

does it have to be for a specific guitar? or would you consider one of the fold up guitars?

if not, I play a half size which i now prefer to my full size dreadnaught
and something like that would be much easier to mount.

I always thought Grant's (from HU) side case on his bike looked a little like a short guitar
case, it isent and and also isent a 1200gs but may give you some inspiration

A few years ago I saw a desert racer type jap bike ( Suzuki DrBig ?) in Newquay that had a surfboard rack fitted to the nearside- looked like it was bolted to a pannier rack. The surf board sat verticaly and it looked like it didn't stick out any farther than a pillions leg would so getting through traffic wouldn't have been a problem.I Wouldn't like to ride it in any kind of wind but then you'd not be going surfing if it was breezy- don't suppose a guitar would give you the same problem.
