A lowered bike is more likely to ground itself. You could fit a Ti bash guard or crank up the preload.
I'd have thought to get it low enough to scrape the brake you're contact patch on the rear tyre would be about .5mm
... I've taken the corner off the little foot on the centre stand on the other side too, but thats a more regular occurrence than the brake pedal, so there could be something in that "bumpy cornering" for the brake pedal too me thinks, so l will put that 5mm contact patch theory to the back of my mind and enjoy the ride!!, it not like I'm trying to get it down either, ....the GS just seems to do it on its own... .... Yippee
