Touch Down... Rear brake lever

My rear brake lever is touching down - is this a result of having a lowered bike?

its defiantly tarmac abrasion (you can see the foot peg just above has seen a bit of tarmac too), but the brake lever was a little unexpected... bike only has 7k on it, and she's garaged and well polished

I think we need more information before a full investigation can be called upon, does happen:

When you are going around bends
Or when you go over the ramp to the chip shop

Thanks chaps.... , yes, its on bends (not all of them obviously!!) and funnily enough just right handers, the chip shop does not have any ramps to it, and SWMBO usually goes to the chippy so i can discount that. Fat - well I'm "short" and wearing a size 50 (euro size) UK 40 jacket, and I'm weighting in at 78kg, i know my Dad, allbeit that he has passed on so i can discount the "fat bastard" option too. I take it from the replies that this is perhaps an unusual occurrence....

Would perhaps a bend in a dip / hollow taken at speed (or as some might say "too fast") compress the rear suspension enough to make the lever touch down..?

A lowered bike is more likely to ground itself. You could fit a Ti bash guard or crank up the preload.

Thanks - i was wondering if having a lowered bike had contributed... best be more careful in future.

Mines lowered and I don't get that. Original centre stand would catch on a bumpy right hander but that was cos it was too long for the bike. Maybe you are a riding God and you just don't know it I'd have thought to get it low enough to scrape the brake you're contact patch on the rear tyre would be about .5mm

Must be cos it's lowered, i cant possibly be a riding God ... I've taken the corner off the little foot on the centre stand on the other side too, but thats a more regular occurrence than the brake pedal, so there could be something in that "bumpy cornering" for the brake pedal too me thinks, so l will put that 5mm contact patch theory to the back of my mind and enjoy the ride!!, it not like I'm trying to get it down either, ....the GS just seems to do it on its own...

The GS/A indeed handles very well. I've regularly touched a foot down on a tight off camber RH bend. It's a route that any other bike would have me scared witless & tottering about.
All I can say if you have lowered springs don't fit TKC-70 tyres
