Tour de France 2012

Also doing stage 16, taking my 14 year old daughter down with me, a first time to the 'tour de France' for both of us.
Can you recommend for great spot/s to watch the race?.
Also by reading previous posts we intend to get there late afternoon on the previous day and camp? your thoughts.

Friday 6th start work @02.30:eek: Wellington Nr Taunton
Finish work at 09.00.&on the gs @ 9.15:thumb2
Dover @12.15 !!!@ MY speed limit!!!!
In to bed at L'Auberge De Laon Relais Fasthotel @ 20.00hrs.
5Mins from A26 2.5 hrs from calais.
Saturday 7th
Watched tour stage 7 in 2 places.
Col Du Mont Fourche./plus another which i cant remember,but 1hr away across country
Bed at Hotel F1 Mulhouse,crap hotel,Electronic lock fell off the wall as i touched it,problem,s getting it fixed,but receptionist opened door with PP9 battery connected directly to the bare wire's,(SECURE OR NOT!!),put helmet/coat in room closed the door to get luggage,&locked out,so left luggage with fellow English biker,went through to reception POLICE NOW IN LOBBY:eek: French people kicked off by accusing receptionst of booking someone in before them!!!
Went for a drink & food came back 3hrs later NAFFING lock still not fixed,so call her a few choice English word's:rolleyes: and then she fixed it.
bed at 23.00hrs.
Sunday 8th
Stage 8 watched again in 2 place's
Start atBelfort,then into Swiss for another stage view point,
Bed for the night at Etape Hotel Budget at Velentin.
GUESS WHAT BED NOT MADE UP OR ROOM CLEANED FROM PREVOIUS OCCUPANT, more choice word's spoken.
Monday 9th.
Besancon for time trial watched till 12.00
Then Calais for for the ferry caught 18.50.
Chatham for the night with friend's.
Then home to sunny Devon ?? Tuesday 10th
1553 mls....53.11 mpg average
Total spend fuel/toll's/ferry/food/hotel's/spontanous Le Tour bit's.
£371.38p
And loved every second of it.

The way Froome kept looking back at around 3k out i think,he could have crossed the gap with ease,but Wiggo looked like he just didnt want to push himself,but in the interview he did sort off admit it,but he also rekoned that he would support Froome when he goes for the yellow.
So that's Froome for the win next year then.!!
 
I have the champagne chilling and the Sandy Gilchrist cap ready for running about mental if he wins it

Never been so excited about a sporting event before, been waiting decades for a Brit to ccome good..

AND HE`S A MOD !!!!!!!!! scooters and everything !!!! get in there !
