Yeh it should go all the way around the wheel

In that case Im sure there a bit missing on the bottom but every time I turn the wheel around its gone

Just checked mine. New at the beginning of May done just over 12000 since and front at 4mm and rear 5mm. Bike fully loaded,I don't mean accessories and allsorts of roads and speeds.
Holding up well.

3900 miles on mine with 3.6mm front and 5.3mm back, that is a 70:30 split of hot European roads 2 up fully loaded and back lanes to and from work.
