tourance or tourance exp

Stick with Tourance, they last longer than the EXP, and plenty enough grip for a GS ;)

Tourance are ok, Tourance EXP are a little better everywhere except for wear, so if high levels of grip (wet or dry) and good "feel" are higher in your list of priorities than getting a couple of thou more out of your tyres you know what to buy ;)

I get around 6000miles from a rear tyre (Tourance, Conti Trail Attack, Conti Road Attack- pretty much any rear tyre) I only got 5000 from my last EXP and about 4500 from the one before, you won't save a fortune by going for the Tourance over the EXP, that said if I needed tyres in a hurry and only Tourance was available I'd have them.

Tourance

If you can afford them buy the EXP, if you don't ride hard then tourances will be fine.

Yes I agree had em both but Standard Army Issue --- Tourance work fine all i have to do is make sure front tyre pressure is 33lb and i think they are just fine and last longer than EXP...

Big D:)

I had tourance fitted last year by BMW dealer. The guys there that have GS's all recommended them. They said the same thing as the guys on here about the exp wearing out quicker.
They have been good so far no complaints.

I only tried EXP's, grip seemed pretty decent for dual purpose tyre and they generally felt "nice" - certainly much better than Deathwings they replaced, but not so good as recently fitted Roadsmarts (until you hit the dirt I suspect)

You obviously ride harder than me, done 5500 and don't look like they need replacing soon :thumb2

Had EXPs fitted last time having previously had Trail Attacks. Don't like the EXP's at all.

EXP's are 'supposed' to have more grip but the trade off is they wear out a lot quicker

Have had both and stick with the standard Tourances, got around 6000 miles from an EXP but the standard was good for around 9000 with no other noticable difference in performance.

just replaced my exp for a set of tourance, touring and normal rideing and still got 8500 miles out of the rear :clap

Phew, this all makes for interesting reading...

I was a bit shocked to see that I only seem to have got just over 3,000 miles out of a Tourance EXP rear but it looks like that's pretty common place...

Having used both, the main difference I can tell between the standard and the EXP is that on the EXP's I was able to leave two mates for dead around the twisties in Spain the other week - now that was definately worth the money :D

Just put an EXP on the rear, as my supplier could only get one of those quickly. Scrubbed it in on Saturday, seems smoother when leant over, but otherwise similar. Will have to see what the mileage is like.

Vastly preferred the original Tourance to Tourance Exp, really did not like the latter at speed, front end got very twitchy. So much so that after half the life I got out of the original Tourances - and a front puncture - ditched them both and got Roadsmarts.

If mileage is the issue, then use the EXP "M" rear. It uses same rubber as the standrd Tourance. The EXP's are a better all road choice outta them.
