TouraTech Footpeg Lowerers & Boot Damage !

Last week I fitted my new TTech footpeg lowerers and the TT adjustable gearchange (to a GS1150 Adv).

They're great and really well made, big, chunky and do the job. My feet are now at the perfect position and legs, hips and knee joints all at the "right" angle.

But .... they stick out a bit and they're serrated (lots of serrated "teeth") which, yes, have had a go at my boots leaving lots of "scratch" marks across the fronts and backs of the boots (my relatively new but now scratched and striated Touregs !).

Can't avoid it really. When you put your feet down the boots rub up against the footpegs.

Question is ......... can you fit rubbers onto/over the footpegs or is it a case of live with it (or go back to the original BMW footpegs) ?

Bizarrely, I did exactly the same thing with the same boots, except I also scraped the sides while trying putting my feet further out.

After a while I learned three things; how to avoid scraping the boots every time I put my feet down (you'll still do it occasionally), how to get a lot better at balancing the bike, and to buy Fastway footpegs the next time which don't have the jaggy edges.

A little bit of dubbin or similar on scratches on the Touregs keep them waterproof, and you look even more ruffty-tuffty of course

The TT lowerers are a great product and very well made. Better perhaps than the Fastways in several ways.

But I've noticed that other riders have boots that are less "high", or are tucked in, or otherwise just don't get in the way.
