Just received this message from TT.

"Thanks for your order with Touratech (UK) Ltd. Your order is on Back Order with Touratech Germany so will take longer than the 7-10 working days to get to you, as soon as we have an update on your part/Parts we will let you know

A further e-mail will be sent to confirm shipment of your goods when we do receive them."

I ordered a while back s/steel pannier racks and luggage plate. When ordered they expected have parts with me before 2nd.

I thought they were being optimistic when they told me the 2nd March for my order. Guess that's the downside of buying a brand new model:blast:comfort:D

That's probably why they were so snotty with me when I asked as its supposed to be a free European market why I couldn't order from the German shop and they wanted me to go through Britain :tosser:tosser:forry
And no I didn't mention the war
:flag

Can they stop you?
Is this restrictive practice legal?
I thought the whole idea of the EU was free trade.

Quite correct. It's in breach of the EU single market regulations. If you want to stir the hornets nest you can make a complaint here

The car manufacturers tried this game a few years back and stopped people from one country buying in another. They also maintained different pricing and the EU slammed them big time . If I recall VW among others were fined millions of shekels for breaking these rules.

If you want to circumvent the UK distributor - go ahead................

Either go and collect the items from Germany yourself - or arrange some other method. But insist that they German maker sends it to you? Get a grip.

Will you be so "pro-EU market" when a bunch of Greeks offer to do your job for far less than you?

Al:rolleyes:

Well yes, they can do anyway its one of the negatives of the EU. But that still should not negate the positives.
Stevie should be free to buy were he likes though i am sure if he has a warranty claim etc he will find it much more problematic.
On a wider note the sooner we joint the single currency the better, that way every time i go to Europe some shiney arse will not be able to rob me with the currency exchange and the likes of Stevie and the Greeks will find buying from europe all the easier.

Sorry i am bored its snowing outside and there is about 2" on the road

Just for your information:blagblah I had a German address to send it to, but they still wouldn't take my order because my billing address was in blighty, so they said use the Internet shop instead of the German shop which tells you to use the local distributor in your country,,,, why the f?%^ should I use somebody more expensive for the same product:censor:

I think you'll find they couldn't give a flying Fek....

I went through all this just less than 10 years ago with Touratwat and Wonderpricks but they just nodded their virtual heads in agreement (well wonderlicks did) but still refused to let me buy stuff online to be shipped direct, at a substantially lower price (at that time) than I was to be charged here.

Nothing seems to have changed...

Voted with my wallet...:thumb

tried the same in norway, you have to buy trough touratech nordic which is in sweden.
last year i bought a new 1200gs rally,i vent on a trip to the alps, and stopped at touratech in niedersache,an got all the gear i wanted and some that I did not know that i wanted at the store.
In the parking lot outside there was at least 20 bikes with plates from around eu all putting on the bits they bought.
ps they lend you the tools at the counter.

Touratech UK now have stock coming through on a few LC products.:beerjug: My bar risers, sidestand extender and radiator guards arrived today:JB

TT Back Order Update.

They'll be on the next delivery:thumb Along with the rest of the junk I've ordered:D

Just spoken to TT. 10 sets of pannier racks came in today also the top plate I ordered.

Apparently I'm the only one to have racks only all the others are having boxes as well.
