Touratech IMO 100 computer help needed

Terry Ryan is round mine at the minute. we're fitting an IMO 100 computer to his bike. We have a problem with the wheel sensor connections - there's no info in the docs that came with it to show the right connections for the three wires (Brown, White, green)

Any body know how they connect into the terminal box?

Is there no symbol on the sensor to show what the wires are ?

(Our proximity switches in work have a small circuit symbol on the body)

Bearing in mind the three are going to be two for feed and one 'switch wire' don`t two of them match the loom colours for the supply ??

Theres no markings on the circuit board and three unmarked wires from the sensor, the sensor is encapsulated. I've used my multimeter and found a connection from the sensor wiring that goes through to the supply -ve to the unit. One of the sensor wires is brown and thats usually ground on BMW wiring. Apart from that theres no indication at all of what the wiring should be. I've tried a magnet next to the sensor but get nothing from the sensor on my multimeter.

The one that goes through to the -ve is most likely the 'switch wire'.

Sounds like it`s NPN with a negative pulse.

I don`t think an inductive proxy will pulse without a supply on it so a resistance or continuity test with a multimeter may be unsuccessful.....

Thats the one michel thanks. I found some info earlier on the American Touratech site, unfortunatly, it looks like Terry's sensor is knackered. We got everything else wired in though, including the fiddly warning light panel. Do you know if the IMO is supposed to switch between Kph and Mph? seems a bit of an oversight if it doesn't. The manual that came with it isn't very informative.

Mine is an IMO-100 R300 and in the setup pages (press & hold "E")
I can select miles or kilometres.

Are we talking about that unit or an IMO-100 R ?

just had a read of Yanky site of touratech and this is what they said

All of the IMOs can display in kilometers or miles by manipulating the wheel size factor during installation.


but i will be f*cker if I can find any other info on how to do it any one any other ideas


we did the wheel size in mm I think it was 2113mm

I thought it was 2413 but I'm not sure. The tape I used for measuring got pulled up this morning. divide by five, multiply by eight gives 3860. Give it a go and see how your GPS compares when you get a new sensor

but theres no Gas going into it Mark thats the bit which is confusing

this is what you do wheel size 2200 for example


2200 X 1.6093 = 3540 mm input 3540 into imo and it comes as miles

however the kph symbol will not change


but the IMO will pick up mph


now waiting for an answer on the sensor
