touratech large frame guards

Not TT. Made in China but it's only a plastic moulding so there's hardly likely to be a quality issue. Chances are that they all come from the same factory!
A good saving if you are looking for a set. Having said that, it astonishes me what folks are charging for plastic mouldings that literally cost a few shillings to produce!
I think we bikers get royally ripped off with this kind of thing.

I just put clear wrap over the frame bars. Should do OK, and cost $7.

Can you see it?

Aye rip off at that price. Why is it that every extra for this bike is way over priced. Had Jap bikes before my GS and extras were half the price. Is it cos it has a Beemer badge.

Thats exactly why, and we only have ourselves to blame , we pay the stupid prices and encourage it, if we don't buy at the ridiculous prices
the prices will drop, so only ourselves to blame,

your right, but its the only bike ive ever bought guards bling etc for and virtually got my money back when i remove and resell when i come to change bikes, just put some stuff on fleabay and two touratech items made more money than i paid for them:blast

I had TT frame protectors on my 08 Hexhead. One was rubbed through by my boot so it seemed a good idea.

My bike certainly had paint problems (many 08-09 hexheads do). I stripped the back end for powder coating the frame. Rust was everywhere but by far the worst affected was underneath that TT bling. Dirt got trapped and rotted into the steel.

Helicopter tape is a much better idea.
