Has anyone got the Touratech mount for their 2610? I'm trying to decide between the Garmin cradle with Ram mount and the TT item. I've been using the TT item for my SP111, and like the performance & look of it, but I haven't seen the 2610 version yet.

Thanks,

Charles

Hi Greg,

Does that Sony radio work well while riding? I have heard comments on those kinds of radio's that they don't...

I've been thinking about getting one, if I find a good one. What type is it? To be found where?

Cheers,
Michel

It's the Sony SRF-M48RDS. This place has them at £40.

The unit is a great little pocket radio - I find it very useful at Le Mans and other race tracks where the commentary is radio broadcast.

However, for a bike, the problem is that the ear-piece lead also acts as the aerial. When I first installed it on the bike, connecting it to my Autocom, it didn't work very well at all. So I extended the output lead and ran it right around the underside of the beak. It's better now, but far from perfect. When I find a suitable car aerial, I'll mount that on the screen and splice the aerial lead into the radio output lead.

It's all low priority for me now, as I also use an MP3 player in the same location.

OK, thanks for the info Greg!

Sorry about the hijack, carry on :)

Cheers,

Forgot to add that I'm going with the TT mount - I prefer my GPS on the handlebars. I found out that with the sunvisor down on my Shuberth S1 helmet, the visibility of the Garmin screen is much improved, as I can view the screen through the plain bit of the visor at the bottom.

Charles
