Has anyone fitted one of these to a R1200GS any gotcha'a?
Do I have to dismantle the front end?

Go for one of Reyno's stainless oil cooler protectors... look the biz and easy to fit. ( and cheaper)

Just do a search for oil cooler protectors...

Sorry if you've already bought a touratech one:D

You can always phone 'em up and cancel, they won't mind, I do it all the time! Reyno's one is much better.;)

I fitted one to my R12GS.

You need to remove the beak - there are 6 bolts holding it, two below the side panels.

I also had to loosen the oil cooler to get the TT guard to slide in and snap over the top of the cooler. There are two bolts holding the cooler on. I did it with the front end dissasembled since I fitted a TT HID lamp and fog lamp at the time as well. Should not take you too long and I'm sure you would only need to remove the beak (about 5 mins,) loosen the cooler (about 1 min), slide on the guard, tie it down and refit the beak and tighten the bolts.

Fitted the Touratech one, and I'm a mechanical halfwit.

Wished I'd got Reyno's - it looks so much better! It's on the list of things to do/buy/throw money at/obssess about.

Thank to all who replyed with words of wisdom (and photo's)

Cheers Abi:-)
