just bought a set ot touratech pannier frames for my 100gs
and have a problem with where the left hand one i assume fits to the
bracket holding the footrest.
not only is it 35mm away easily fixed with a spacer (not supplied)
but it is 25mm out of line.
before i start shouting at touratech has anyone had a similar problem?
only thing i can think of is that the footrest bracket has been rewelded
at sometime in the wrong position?
All comments welcome

It could simply be the alignment on your exhaust. You do have one of those bloody awful Keihin Y pieces fitted so the chances of anything lining up properly have reduced dramatically. Is the exhaust mounted properly on the frame?

Different bike but similar problem on my then 1150GSA(2002)

Touratech frames fitted my bike perfectly.......No way would they fit my friends 1150GSA on one side when I sold the panniers on to him a few years later!

Reamed out the holes into slots and bent the footpeg arm of the pannier racks to get it to fit properly

Our conclusion was that our identical bikes were different, either that or one of them had been bent out of line at sometime!:nenau

If my frames hadn't lined up at all i'd have just cut the flat bar off and welded in a length of flat bar to make it fit:thumb

A friend of mine imported some frames & discovered that that the kink in the flat had been welded on back-to-front. Here it is comparing to mine.

He was sent another set.

I had to 'massage' mine to fit. I think the bikes get some variances over the years. I assume that Touratech uses a jig to weld up the frames.

still not fitted!

still having dialogue with touratech in Germany
I saw this PD at CW Dorchester the bracket on the exhaust seems to be welded
to the left of the centre seam (see pic) where as mine has it on the right
also saw a ST which one more like mine
any more thoughts?
If any one has a 100GS within close'ish striking distance of addlestone Surrey
I could do with looking at one!
