I have a set of touratech street panniers, the ones that fit onto the original pannier rails of my GS. I wanted to buy the proper pannier rails for them from touratech but they say that this will be impossible. Anyone got and ideas on how to modify them to allow me to carry a bit more weight in them?

Another thing, on my last trip away the BMW pannier rails look like they have broken slightly, allowing the panniers to slide backwards on the rails. this makes the panniers come of the mount beside the rear footrest. Has anyone expierienced this before?

Cheers

Mike

I never realised you could get Zega cases with a mount to use the original BMW pannier rails. Does anyone know if you can retrofit a set of boxes with these mounts and do touratech sell the bits to do so??

Judging by the description the boxes are standard ones. I don't see why they wouldn't sell the mountings separately, although your boxes might end up a bit emmental.

Your correct Mick in the mine are the standard ones and these look just the same except the mounting. The pick actually reminded me how ugly the Alloy boxes look (imho) but fit in so much more than the BMW system panniers.

Thanks anyway:thumb2
