Hi,

Looking through the Touratech catalogue as you do :augie I keep coming back to the twin rear light setup, both the 'normal' and the led version.

Has anybody tried these, and in particular on a servo ABS 1150 GSA?

As always any advice appreciated.

Thanks

I have the twin TT light on my GSA SE with Servo/ABS there are no problems:thumb

weighing this up against an LED panel. Any side by side photos with this light against the standard light?

Any idea which is the brighter tail/rear running light?

Put it this way the TT has twice the output of standard...coz there's 2 bulbs, which of course you could change to LED it also looks 400 times better and they are more visible from a side angle than LED:)

Ok... I'm a bit of a 'keep it standard' kinda guy, but loving the twin rear lights. Personal opinion, but would go for the standard bulbs over the LED. Think that would be a step too far for the style design of the bike.

Emptying my piggy bank :beerjug:

Be keen to see photos of new lights 'in situ'...

A year and a half later and I'm still thinking about getting these.

I did email Touratech to ask about the LED vs Halogen and basically the answer was that the LED version was brighter while the Halogen version was more servicable - ie. if a LED blew it can't be replaced whereas the Halogen bulb can.

That said, I did find replacement LED units on eBay if they do blow (item number 250649405780) but they are pricey enough - £40.

Still on the fence....

My only concern now is will the LED version give a brake light failure warning light on the dash? (R1150GS Servo & ABS)

Just fitted a LED unit on my GS. It came with resistors to allow the ABS to function correctly. On initial trials these became very hot and if left as designed would easily have melted the rear mudguard. There isn't a lot of room behind the light to fit two resistors. One for the brakes and one for the tail light.

As my ABS has been disabled I removed the resistors and hard wired the LEDs. It works well and looks good. And now runs cool. Prior to removal I contacted the vendor who stated that the resistors were for ABS and Canbus. Neither of which I have.

This is the item I fitted.

Probaly not worth the money. But my tail light lens was broke so I decided to upgrade the lot.

one of tts nicer items

Here's mine, you could of course fit led stop/tail bulbs which I may do sometime.

I've also fitted a stop/tail led light on the bottom of the mudguard, 2nd hand off ebay for a fiver.
