I have the TT mount John - I like it for the same reason as Berin.
The XT mount itself is very secure. Garmin did modify the early mounts as the unit was a little loose in them.

I will buy one as not wholly convinced that one couldn’t accidentally depress the quick release button, without realising
Seems a bit slack, as with all my other previous Garmin mounts have/had the additional screw to ‘lock’ the release button
Then why pose your question?
There again, I am greatly encouraged by the words ‘a few’.

The 660 mount had that problem.
Again, the XM mount seems quite sturdy and capable.
For £20, including shipping, there's this option, which increases the security a little, and reduces the chance of accidentally depressing the button:

I use one of these and done 5k without any issues, it locks on well and has never jumped off.

Had similar concerns when I first got mine, and that the silly rubber contacts cover was the good enough, but 5 months on no issues. Never any sign of it coming off and the wee cover seems to work just fine too. Still tempted by some edge protection though, and wouldn’t mind a simple latch cover to stop the chancers nicking it on fuel stations etc.

I have, I commented on the other thread that I like that one.
Had a Touratech Cradle on my G310GS but sadly the bike and mount was stolen. Took me a bit but ended up with another 310GS as nothing else ticked all the boxes so decided to make my own cradle...
All 3D printed, not the most secure as I'm sure a hefty screwdriver could cause the whole thing to disintegrate but happy enough to leave it outside petrol station/cafes.

I had the TT mount but didnt like it as although secure its a fair amount of Meccano sat there when you arent using the XT and mine rattled. Went back to the normal XT mount and a locking Wunderliche device plus to secure it . I do use a very small short lanyard and just hook it over the arm when I lock it on to be 100%.
I feel secure with my TT mount and it does not rattle. I think it’s the best you can get .
Regarding sturdiness of the original mount, I quote myself (pardon me

I use some OSM-based maps with rights of way indicated both on my XT and 64s. You can transfer them on the XT via USB and switch via the settings menu under map layers. They are not routable, but you only use tracks when offroad, so no issues there.
I use the same maps (on the 64s) when on my DRZ400 or when hiking.
And before someone complains about the original mount... I have a fair amount of crashes on camera where it stays...
