What a twat, Mr Tidy (moi) recently did a 'let's clear the garare out and re-paint the floor' type of clear out. Complete with nice new shelves from Swedish flat-pack land (loads of spare allen keys in various sizes if anybody wants them.) Arachnid Action are now on my case alleging genocide.

Anyway, THEN we go and ditch the 7 year old 70k mile RT for a 2010 MU GSA (total horn - nice to be back in the fold). So, we order the Touratwat bar adapter gismo from NN to mount the beloved Touratech Garmin Zumo 660 Lockable Mount v2 above the instruments.

Then, we go searching in then newly tidied garage for the previously unused pair of bar clamps (not exactly de rigeur on an RT) that came with aforementioned Touratwat mount, which it seems are located somewhere so f****ing safe I can't find them with a sniffer dog.

Outcome - without the clamps my Touratech mount is not worthy in GS land and fit for purpose only in previously inhabited RAM Mount land. Not a kudos situation, seriously uncool in fact.

So, my mate Betty Swallocks suggested posting on here to see if one of you fine people has a pair of aforementioned TT bar clamps which would suit aforementioned mount that you would be prepared to part with.

Exchange would of course be by way of the traditional currency of beer tokens, or I have a tasty Cymarc stainless steel headlight guard that I have instantly and in revulsion removed from the monster bumble bee, which those with of you who are totally bereft of taste may be interested in.

In anticipation

I'm pretty certain I have a pair as I reused the BUMW Nav4 mounts on my GS. Problem is I won't be back in the UK until 31st July. If no one else comes up trumps before then, then PM me on the 30th and I'll post them out on the 31st.:aidan

Give Touratwat a call and explain situation. They may be able to help. Have helped me in the past with missing bits (ie spares) that are not normally sold.

I would hold your breath with Touratech and spare parts - I've been waiting over 9weeks now for some bolts......"oh yeah they'll be on te next delivery - the factory have told me". Not very impressed to be honest - especially as I've had two £120 satnav cradles off them.

In an act of faith I phoned TT in Wales. Isn't that the place near where the BMW Off Road stuff is based? Nice chap on the phone told me the bits are available separately and advised me to e-mail them and they would order them for me from Europe. Here's hoping. How come when your garage is in chaos you can find things and after a major tidy you can find toss all? :blast

lesson for today

Never tidy up! this can have fatal mistakes, almost as bad as CLEANING!! ones bike!. If your stuck PM me I may be able to help.

Cheers Davegs :beerjug:

An older mate who bodges up crap home repairs (usually involving huge roughly drilled holes and silicone sealant) to avoid spending a couple of quid :rob was surprised when I abruptly dismissed his suggestion of going to B&Q and searching the plumbing department.

Some people just don't understand what it's like to be so anal about getting the proper part :nenau

Betty Swollocks was right, you guys are awesome when it comes to helping a fellow GSer out. Just don't ask him about his home-fitted secondary power socket though :JB
