I see that Touratech have a version 1 & version 2 lockable mount available for the Zumo 660.

Seems the V2 is better in that it has a more secure locking mechanism?

At 130 quid it's a stiff one, but any advice whether it's worth it - does it do the job enough to allow the rider to feel confident enough to leave the Satnav in the mount....?

got my v2 a few weeks ago, great bit of kit. i've just been to le mans for the moto gp and it was great filling up with fuel or eating in a restaurant without worrying that my zumo would be knicked. i have never tried the v1 but i coan recomend the v2. i know its £130 but a new zumo 660 is nearer £500 if it gets knicked !!! incidently i got mine from nippy normans as touratech had no stock, then realised i saved some money as nippy's is free postage

where do you think nippy gets his from????:blast

and i also have a v2 660 mount and personally think it is worth the money.

top piece of engineering!!!:thumb2

I have lockable version 1 - the key was a bit stiff on the first one I had but Graham at Touratech sorted that - seems secure and I am happy to leave the 660 unattanded whilst filling up with petrol or coffee (i know they go in different places)

The V2 looks prettier - if anything from Touratech can look pretty - but I have had the v1 locking mount for a couple of years. it works, it secures the bike against opportunist theft in filling stations etc. and it's a lot cheaper.

andy the v2 has a stainless cradle that holds the unit in place wheras the v1 is aluminium both are good tbh but i now prefer the v2 as its a good piece of evolved kit..

I bought one of these Version 2 Touratech mounts to hold my Zumo 660 and was quite impressed with the design and quality of construction of the device.

The only caution that I give to others is that the various metal edges around the perimeter of the device are not well chamfered, and as a result, the exposed edges of the Touratech mount will rapidly cut through paint or plastic surfaces if it has any contact with them at all while riding.

i have the black lockable V2 version mounted on my left handlebar as although I wanted initially to mount it on the bar brace of my GSA screen. Discovered I couldn't do that as when the clamps are opened, it hit the screen!
I then mounted the V2 on left handlebar. Inserted a brand new 660 on and locked it with the key.
Started my journey, everything was ok. I hadn't even switched on my brand new 660 as I knew the route to the motorway. After 5 minutes riding at 80mph, my whole 660 came out of the V2 lockable mount and flew away!!

I think when I insert the 660 into the V2 mount, I did not insert it until i could hear a click.:blast:blast:blast

Result is: i lost a brand new 660 even without switching the power on once!:blast

Can someone tell me if it is possible to secure the TT V2 mount onto the GSA screen brace bar? if so, would I need to buy a separate adaptor?
When I tried to put in on the screen bar above the clocks, when the jaws of the V2 opens, it hits the screen!

Hi all,
I was planning on ordering the v2 660 mount today so have been reading up on it - worried to see that there may be an issue with it being fitted to the screen bar above the clocks (with regard to it hitting the screen when opened) - I trimmed the cable down on my garmin mount for a neat installation so it won't reach anywhere but the bar above the clocks! (there is a bit of slack that I left because I knew I wanted the lockable mount at some point)

I was wondering if the concerns re touching the screen were relevant if using the ball-shaped RAM mount which obviously gives some adjustment of position in every direction?

Yes if you get Nippy's GPS mount it all fits OK but you need to drill the V2 mount with two more holes if you want a 4 bolt fixing (recommended) as only 2 line up as standard. You also need to cut the bolts as they are too long.
I did a long review of this mount and this issue but Nippy did not post it, I guess it may put some off getting it if modifications are needed for it to work properly.
Well worth going with the V2, nice piece of kit.

I have the V1 and have always thought that the locking mechanism was to flimsy , I have no problem riding the bike with it in the locked position but I would never leave the bike unattended with the Zumo attached.
Buy the V2.
