This site appears to be very useful but does not appear to work with my 2610. The routes transfer to the GPS unit OK but come out on the display "as the crow flies". Has anyone else with a 2610 tried this site or is it me?

I've been in touch with Jan who runs the site by the way and he's been very helpful but no solution as yet.

I've just had a look at the site, as I suspected you need to recalculate the route otherwise it will remain as straight lines. I have tried one route, downloaded as a gpx file to Mapsource. It comes as straight lines, just click " recalculate" and away you go!

Quick update

I had a look at the one route I downloaded-one in our area so I know the roads. It includes some fairly serious tracks-ones I would not tackle myself on my 1150 (fitted with road tyres) Something to bear in mind maybe if you want to use these routes

Many thanks John. I downloaded a test route to my 2610 then activated it and pressed the re-calculate "button". The unit then proceeded to run through the route by road rather than by air! The route as shown on the 2610 display remains as a stright line however. Next step is to stick the unit on the bike and take it for a run. We'll see what the weather does over the next day or so.

No problem

Always glad to help a fellow 2610 user! Do you use openstreetmap? up to date maps go straight onto the unit so you don't need to buy an inferior unit to replace the 2610. Mine is waiting for a new screen so it should be ready for next season.

If you have Mapsource try downloading it onto Mapsource recalculating and then to the 2610.

I've still got to try tourstart on the road done a routs and loaded it on to my tomtom rider just waiting to get out for a ride.
