TPS types; protection needed

That sounds interesting... Do you have a pic of that so that I can design it after?

I'll take a pic of it fitted to the bike later today, bear in mind the inside of the guard is machined to be a very close fit so the TPS is a snug fit within it.

Frankly, the TPS is quite physically robust anyway and not that prone to being damaged in falls etc. anyway, so in designing a guard it's probably best not to make it too thick as it's already been pointed out that the bigger it is, the more likely it is to be knocked.

I carry a spare TPS on trips, but the guard is cool:cool

For the TPS, I will make guards of 2 mm and 3 mm, then test how they act to bending, hitting.

Chances are you'll find out the TPS unit will be stronger than your guard

But the TPS does look better with a guard on it then without

And... the protection could interfere with water getting into the TPS and ruining the good function of the engine

What I was thinking was that the protection would not let the water go past to it and ruin the TPS. My English is bad...

I have booted my TPS loads of times on my 1100 and every time I noticed I had done it I checked with the voltmeter and nothing had changed so I figure it would have to be a substatial hit on the TPS to change anything.

That said I did see a guard someone made up that stretched from his crashbar round the TPS and back to the crashbar. Oh and another which was attached to a bolt hole on the cylinder head but I can't remember where the other end attached. Check ADV rider and use the search function.

I fully agree For more TPS protection get a set of Hepko Becker crash bars.......

But I was given mine with these 1100 injector covers.

That's some sweet looking cover, but for now, the machine that I have access to can only cut to metal and then I will bend the sheet, so that it would look like this:
