I have a2013 model in black, well grey but my frame different as in no detailing under the tank area and I didn't think they produced red in 13 it was only grey and the electric blue colour , but I may be wrong , looks well with the akro's , and why are you trading in, out of interest..

Its a late 2012 build on a 13 plate which would explain the colour.
I`ve done 10k on my old bike and loved it but was never 100% certain on the colour (light grey) so was looking to change sometime in spring 2015. This one came up with the extras and couldn`t resist.
There is a big difference in the drive train / transmission which I noticed within the first 100yds of test ride, in fairness my old one wasn`t bad but there is some backlash and gearbox is a bit clunky at times. This one feels entirely different, nice and smooth and the Akras , engine bars and topbox are a nice bonus.

Same colour as mine............ when I had it.

Looks like you got some very nice extra's too............ Top box with lighting, Akra's, and engine guards.............. £2k worth.

I miss the luxury and that turbine power.................

Was looking at this bike when I was at Cannon a few weeks ago. Like you I have a 2011 GT in light grey and thought it looked nice in that dark red. The Ackro cans look and sound great but are expensive to buy so that was a bonus.

My 2011 bike also has the slightly irritating gearbox/transmission lash but I can live with it as I forgive a bike with that brilliant engine everything.

Good to here that some of the later bikes are an improvement in that department.

Good to hear, never used Cannons before although visited several times. I was an ignition key missing but Adam simply ordered a replacement without any fuss to be posted directly to me. So far so good. Not had chance to get out on the bike yet as had the dreaded man flu right through xmas and only just feeling better now. It does look well in the red thou

Can anyone help with a year/month when BMW got their sh@t together with the revised gearbox ?

I fancy a big K, and would appreciate guidance on the oldest bikes with the improved 'box.
