Trail Attack 3 -v- Pilot Road 6

I have been a Michelin fan boy for ages, however, I had PR5s and found them brilliant, as usual, (never did try PR6) but, out of curiosity, I tried TA3s and found them excellent! I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the Trail Attack 3, excellent tyres wet or dry.

CRA3 has a slower turning profile compared to the CTA3. If you ride mostly on straight motorways, CRA3. If you prefer the twisties, CTA3.

Both are good as Contis have reasonably firm sidewalls that suit the GS weight.

If you prefer a more feelsome tyre that also has softer sidewalls, the Pirelli Scorpion Trail 2 is better than the CTA3 for feel.

If you ride in mixed conditions and prize wet weather grip with responsive turn in, Dunlop Mutants are the best. They just don’t last as long as the CTA3. Mutants are my preferred option over CTA3.

I think Dunlops are on a roll at the moment - all their recent tyres released have all had good review.

I have used only Conti Road Attack 3 for a few years. Very good wear, grip and performance does not drop off significantly with miles
Last time around I tried the Road 6. At first I did not like them as much and yes, a slight pull to the left. Weird. But once scrubbed in, which they defo needed, I started to really like them. They feel a bit more sporty for aggressive riding imo.
Would be happy with either in a nutshell as they are an excellent choice for road riding.

I need some new boots on mine too, the OEM tyres are both goosed at 4K miles. I’m convinced the tyres they put on new bikes are an inferior quality product.
Anyone found any deals on the TA3s?

Never bought tyres from here but did buy an arrow exhaust..... did a great deal over the phone. Not the same I know, but maybe worth a call
Always seem to be well priced

I had CTA3's fitted last summer. Bought through protyre but fitted locally at Buckley tyres. They were offering £20 off a pair at that time

After years of Michelins ending with the PR6, I swapped to the CTA 3....fantastic tyre in all conditions on the GS

Not so much of a deal, but perhaps a benchmark... I paid £290 fitted for a set on my GS a couple of months ago. That was my local guy, who does a great job.

The eagle eyed amongst you may have spotted these tyres on my LC that did influence the decision along with the positive suggestion, as they're superb!

I have the Metzler Roadtec 01 superb in the wet and fine for dry even being a bit nippy. My comment would be they wear quite quickly and flats appears. A personal view is the GS is too heavy for them. No idea what the Roadtec 02's are like but I shall probably refer to this topic when I need to replace my tyres. The bike was fitted with anakeers when new and they were ok. I do not go off road, or very rarely down a rough small side road

Nobody seems to mention Conti Road Attack 3. I’ve had 3 sets now and if it wasn’t for emergency Pirelly Scorpion Trail 2, I’d be replacing them with another set. Great tyres. PS. I’ve never had Trail Attack 3 on any of my bikes. What’s the main difference between Trail and Road?
Road Attack 3 and 4 have a rounder front profile , been mentioned before so will agree, which leads to the bike being lazy and not as responsive in the corners . Always used the Conti TA3 on my Gs bikes and also on my V4 Multi , brilliant tyres. The PR5 was the last one I tried , liked it but wore faster than a hookers knicker elastic.
