Where did you get those fitted Marky?

The question was from GSMarky...TA3 or Road6? I have a pair of Road 6's and as they are a "Road Tyre" they work well I feel confident using all the tyre. I have not had any issues pulling to the Left or any other vices. In fact they are very similar to the Road 5's i had on my GSX1300R. The only thing I found, is they pick up lots of debris and unluckily suffered a couple of punctures soon after fitting them. Just bad luck I think now, as no punctures with the R6's yet!
The trail attack, whilst being advertised as a road tyre with some gravel/stoney trail use looks a very good tyre, however the TKC 70 must be worth considering if you are wanting to go off road occasionally. I think I may go that route soon, as I have a few trails worth exploring near home.

I have the Metzler Roadtec 01 superb in the wet and fine for dry even being a bit nippy. My comment would be they wear quite quickly and flats appears. A personal view is the GS is too heavy for them. No idea what the Roadtec 02's are like but I shall probably refer to this topic when I need to replace my tyres. The bike was fitted with anakeers when new and they were ok. I do not go off road, or very rarely down a rough small side road
I too had the Roadtec 01's on my 2019 R1250GS and agree totally with your comments, superb tyre, but do flat quite quickly. Last time I needed tyres (due to a lack of Metzler availability locally) I swapped to PR6's and have to say I'm happy with them - I'd say grip is comparable to the Metzlers and now they are about half worn through, the flatting is not too bad.

I'm not unhappy with the PR6's and would happily fit another set, however I'm seriously thinking about a set of Dunlop Mutants next time though, everywhere I've read about these they seem to get excellent reviews - however having read about the Conti's, I'm tempted to try those also. My riding is mainly country roads with some touring.

Anyone any experience of the Mutants???

Got mine fitted this morning at St. Neots. What a place! Cheers Marky.
Yes, if you like 2T race bikes it is essentially a museum & the boys there are great,

Glad the reference was of use!!

Good to know and a nice run back to Northampton to scrub them in.
Apart from being wheeled in/out of the garage my new tyres are untouched..

Looking at the roads they'll stay that way for a few weeks too.

Bimble out on the new tyres today. Felt good, but then anything would really compare to the crappy squared off Anakees.

Great tyres the CTA3 and perfect for the road and the GS , you can hammer them , they love it.
I cant believe you left the Crappy Anakke for that long , longest I ever had them was the time it took to take them off and find a skip :D

Trail Attack is one of the top tyres for GS.
Road 6 has known issues in size for GS (bike pulls left, slight speed wobble on higher speed).
I've had Road 6 for about 1 month and had to take them out (because of the issues) and replace them with Pirelli Scorpion Trail 2.
I had the pulling with the pr6s, I also switched to scorpion 2 and got on quite well with them.

I've now put a few miles on the TA3 tyres and they are a significant improvement over the OE Annakees. Turn and grip really nicely & quieter.

It's a (y) from me so far & looking forward to using them properly on tour late April.

Gonna throw another into the mix here. Just put Dunlop Mutants on mine, and really liking them so far - incredibly quiet, very precise and neutral handling - quick without being twitchy or tipping in. I've not tested them in the wet, though they have a very good reputation in that department. We'll see.

On my second set of mutants, not the cheapest, quiet and predictable and I find them very good in the wet.
