We're looking for a 50cc road legal trail moped for a mate with no motorcycle licence to ride in the IOM TT next year. Cheap and cheerful as the alternative is take his test and borrow one of my bikes.
I've checked the legal status and he can ride a moped without L plates as he passed his car test prior to 2001.
Location Devon but we travel between Devon and Edinburgh regularly so anywhere not far of that route would be ok.
A robust scooter would do at a push or any other great ideas.

Get in touch with this place Snaf; they have a Fantic Enduro in the shop; all kitted out as competition ready and looking lovelyScreenshot_20260920-125721.jpg lovely; i was in there the other day having a tyre fitted; :beerjug:

Very nice and it was my first thoughts but way over the cheap and cheerful budget.

Nice range of bikes. The Kr1 is about £7k over what is achievable for that model though. They must have bought it in at the peak, even then there were only making £7.5 - £8k 🤔

Not much effort to pass a cbt, a 125 would be far more enjoyable I would imagine.
Unfortunately you can't ride in the IOM on L plates with a UK licence. Moped can be ridden on car licence if test taken before 2001.

They do seem to be able to move a few bikes even tho they may be top price; the staff are helpfull and their stock is always tidy and well presented; the little cafe is also spot on :beerjug:

I can’t think of a single thing that could go wrong with this plan 🤣
I've travelled the world with said mate, we could write a book of things that go wrong :-)
