Yeah I know its another thread about tyres, but I reckon not enough has been written about the Conti Trail Attacks yet.:augie

Anyway, I hate the Anakees and I used to have the superb Road Attacks on my FJR1300. Now I know some of you have the RA's on the GS/GSA and rave about them, so no problem there, but has anyone tried RA's and then Trail Attacks (or visa versa).

Thing is, I'm not sure what the difference is between the TA's and RA's, the blurb on the Conti site states that the TA's are derived from the RA's. Does that mean they use the same rubber compounds, the profile and ratings are the same, the only discernable difference is the tread pattern. Conti also state that the TA is made specifically for the BWM large trail bikes, is it a marketing gimmick?!? Why do BWMnot fit them as OE?? They look very road biased to me (which is good if you spend most of the time on tarmac), so I'm not sure why they are labelled as Trail Attacks, unless that is marketing of course.

Anyone.....?

I think BMW now offer Trail Attacks as OE fitment. I have them on my GSA and can't fault them but then again my bike had TKC80's as standard so not too difficult to improve on them

I HAVE TRIAL ATTACKS,was told they are road attacks wi more rubber,, cant fault em, grip is FAR superior to tourances, wouldnt trust em off road tho

I have had both, the trial attacks are pretty simmilar, only the tread pattern is different and deeper, they go well with my Tourance front :augie
