Train advice

Hi all,i am after some advice, i have some relatives flying in to
london on thursday, they are staying near euston train station
till saturday morning when i am coming down to the smoke to pick
them up,they said they are willing to jump on a train and get out
off the capital to make it easier, i am probably going to come down
the m40, so does anybody no if the trains out off euston run this way
or can recommend a simple way for me to pick them up from a station
just outside off london.

If you live in Ellesmere Port and the relly's are heading up north, why not get them to get the train to Runcorn? Miles easier all round....

There's trains leaving Euston for Runcorn every 30 mins, or so.

Thanks for that slowdown may use that in the future, but just thought i would try and save them some money by picking them up.

Then just buy them the tickets and leave them at the hotel reception for when they check in. Booked in advance they'll be a whole lot cheaper than your petrol bill.

You're looking at ~8 hours driving, ~400 miles round trip and a whole lot of hassle.

Let the train take the strain

If that doesn't work out, and they're happy to get on the tube, tell them to go to West Ruislip. It's the end of the central line, so they won't miss the stop . Should take 45mins-1hr tops.

If they can get to Marylebone (it's only 1.8 miles from Euston - they can black cab it or walk), the Chiltern Turbo goes from there to West Ruislip in 20 mins, but doesn't run as frequently as the tube.

West Ruislip is also only 2 miles from the bottom of the M40/A40, so is easy for you to get to as well.

Or, if you're feeling brave , having driven all that way, drive in and pick them up. It's only another 15 miles in & you carry on down the A40 (Congestion charge doesn't apply on the weekends). You could even bring them back via the famed Ace Cafe...............
