Transmission service

Hi all,

I currently own a BMW 1200 GS ADV 2008

My first post, thanks for having me here in the forum!

I have done the transmission service. New oil and lubricated the splines.

Actually a really good and not to difficult job!

Next is the leaking fork seal.

Is it me, but I’d be nervous working on a bike without putting a chock on the front wheel. Don’t fancy it landing on me while I’m grunting away trying to undo the wheel bolts etc.

I've had mine on the main stand with a trolley jack under the bashplate taking both wheels out for tyres on numerous occasions. It's pretty stable like that. Don't worry too much.
