I have a KTM trip computer and I have worked out most of the connections so I can mount it and get it working but I have hit a problem.

The Clock has 3 connectors coming out of it and I have identified the connections for the three button control (Lap stop reset etc.) I have the two pin connector sorted that goes down to the wheel sensor to give an accurate speed display.

Then there is the final connector, it has 3 wires, one Black, one Red and one Brown, I suspect that there is the following... A ground a + 12v Supply and clock lighting supply, but I am stumped.

Anyone have any ideas?

It is the rectangualr clock branded KTM....

Go here for manuals: ftp://200.9.42.25/

Read here for answer:

On the 03 bikes there is a triangular connector just dangling out of the computer; extend and connect the red wire to the battery + and extend and connect the brown wire to the battery - terminals. DO NOT ground or connect the black wire to ANYTHING or you will loose some computer functionality.

You know you're not allowed to play with tools! Where's my welder??

Your Welder is in my Garage, I found a couple of packs of rods while I was packing up the garage so I'll split those with you too.

I couldn't help feckin with the clock last night and I found that black wire on earth (I know I know) Red wire on Positive from regulator (post bike running) and brown wire feeding from the tail light positive means that the clock gets power constantly when the bike is running (backed up by 3v cell internally) and then when you turn the lights on, the backlight for the LCD comes on.

Got a car with a towbar yet?

I'll call you later!
