Trip Planner

I've finally managed to wrestle the Trip Planner into submission, but it would be really useful if I could plug an existing route into a trip rather than having to map it out again. I can't see any way to do this, however.
Do any of the Basecamp gurus know if this is possible, and if so, how?

Sounds like you got further than me. It wont even find my home or Hollyhead. 2 hours feckin around with it. I am going to give up. How difficult is it to plan a route and load it on the nav??

i too gave up on the base camp trip planner but if you have a NAV 5 i do it by ....
Creating a folder in my collections and give it the name of the trip and then within that folder create new lists for each day and thenjust create each days routes individually in base camp with all your stops and way points on it etc for the appropriate list/day
then transfer all the routes to device and then in the trip app on the unit open them up and you have the options of setting start times arrival times duration at places

You can set the arrival, departure and layover times in basecamp if you double click on the route and then right click on the stop in question.

I do the routes manually too and don't bother with the trip planner in basecamp.

Sorry to resurrect this old post, but it is always helpful to have a precise topic description, and this was the only one that I could find using the search function without reading loads of helpful but unrelated posts.

Anyway ... I am keen to use the Trip Planning function as I like the method it offers and how it organises the data under My Collection. And, although tedious, you can drag and drop via points from one day to another if you find that you are travelling for too long in a single day.

However, I do have a question:
If I create a trip using the Planner tool (say, Lands End to John O'Groats, 3 days @ 6 hours per day), it will "group" 2 days together and have the final leg as another day, but not in the same "group". What is the purpose of that?


And I may have found a solution for the OP:

If you select a previously created route, you can then choose to send it to one of the days created by the Trip Planning tool.
