+1. You get used to the width. Loud exhaust and bright aux lights usually invite the cars to move out tut’wey. If I had to filter every day i‘d be on a scoot...right tool right job.

I think the rallye that the original thread refers to was the red framed white tank rallye that I believe was only made in GS and not as an adventure. I had one in 2012 then swapped it for a TB GSA in 2013. Both obviously hexheads.
I filter on my TB daily, no problems. I think its down to riders skills. The width of handlebars is same on gs and gsa.

Also the width of seperation between traffic. What stops me, will also stop you. Not every filtering opportunity is available to a GSA, especially through road works with narrow lanes and lorries. Or you are a complete idiot and reckless with millimeters to spare.
I can ride my GSA at 2 mph and maintain control, its in my video's as reference. I can U turn around within 2 parking bays and various other slow riding skills.
So it isn't lack of skill. It's occasions where the width of a GSA is too risky, where a narrower bike would be just acceptable.
On your roads where you commute and filter, I'd be doing the same. But not all roads are the same width.
For me the GSA over the GS as I like the range, I know you need to stop more often than that for leg stretching/coffee/nosh etc, but choosing when to fill up rather than having to fill up after 150 miles is useful, IMO.
If I was changing now it would be a Rallye with everything except GSAP and keyless. One other thing is I would seriously consider alternative panniers as I'm very disappointed with the salt corrosion. I like the size, volume, attachment system and construction, just not the finish.

I have had a hexhead triple black which I loved. I am thinking of a GSA rallye but I have to confess I’m not overly keen on the blue panel on the tank. It’s not so much the blue as the paint they use looks like it’s been over painted a dozen times (a first for a modern bmw).
I believe there may be a new iconic and exclusive coming out in the GSA shortly. I like the paint scheme on the iconic but black engine bars and luggage racks are fine right up to the point you fit your luggage and they scuff up. The plain bars don’t show the scuffs and marks nearly as easily.
If my olive green panels would transfer from my current GSA I would just buy a standard GSA and swap them out as I really like that green.
My dealer said every order they have had for GSA for the past few months have been for a Rallye so maybe the TB will be a little less common.

Rider skill plays a big part but at the end of the day a GSA is a big bitch.
Bar width can often be cheated with a wiggle of the bars to clear wing mirrors but you can't do that with a tank and crash bars.
There has been times when the gap is so tight that even in standing traffic I couldn't walk my bike through but other bikes have rode through once I got out of the way.
My GS was definitely easier to filter than my GSA is.

After 3 black estates in a row (by circumstance more than design), each of which got dirty within a few miles, I couldn't go with a TB.
I also didn't like the large GS on the tank of the Rallye.
So - I went with Racing Red
