Triumph Tiger Sport demo ride.

To be fair any Triumph dealer should be able to match that price. The drop may have something to do with Triumph posting a £12.8 million loss or the fact that the Tiger Sport is basically an old bike that they've finally fitted a single side swing arm in to and they want to shift as many units as they can before the end of the year? Either way and despite the fact that Hinckley have had many £1000's off me over the past 17 years I won't be buying a Tiger Sport

but I though you said that it was just £1,000 too expensive? Now they are not! So why would you not buy?

You mentioned earlier that you are connected to the trade so surely you wouldn't do what the general public do and piss about with the saleman saying you will deal at £X and when they get to the figure make an excuse and don't go through with the deal?

I found it quite a substantial update from the older Tiger 1050's. The ride and handling very different, making it feel a very accomplished bike. The engine has a little more grunt and delivers it smoother too, and It is easy on the eye. Surprised it has not sold better.

I said they were £1000 too expensive when I looked at one back in April 2013. If they'd have done me one then for £8600 I'd have been prepared to buy it. Unfortunately, for this particular dealer, his call came 6 months too late and the allocated funds have been spent elsewhere

What I said was that I "worked in the motor trade" which is true. However, I made this comment to the salesman in reference to 'Block Exemption' when it appeared to me that he was clearly trying influence my decision on how I should pay for the bike and where I should have it serviced!

Just because you've worked in the motor trade doesn't give you a 'special' price when dealing with the motor trade you know. What it does do is give you a fair idea of margin & mark up. All I ever wanted was his best cash (no p/ex) price which he knew this from the off!

The people I feel sorry for are the mugs who bought new when they came out and paid the full £9599 for them :augie
