Moo and her other (and far better) half!!!

I haven't been in The Mitre for years. Tuesday, race week, I shall try very hard to be there.
:beerjug:

I have something on in Ramsey that evening, if finished in good time may drop in on the way back, will be with Degsey as well.

I'm there subject to racing etc. I owe Moo money too so I'd better turn up in case she thinks I'm avoiding her:augie

Same here... :thumb

I suppose the answer is to see how everything is on the day. As most of us are involved in some way ..it will, of course, be down to whether any racing occurs on the day ..... and how late. But look forward to seeing folk there .... and to getting some dosh of Mr Piebaps :P

By the way ... speaking of sponsorship money ... I would be very happy to receive sponsorship money from folk for a walk I did in April called the Sarah Killey Memorial Fire Walk. A 50K walk (from Peel to Ramsey ...in a round about way :)) that occurred on the 21st April and which I am thrilled to say I finished in 8hrs 22mins and 45secs. Next year I will be faster. Last year I only got to 25K ... but I was a lot less fit then ;)

I am really proud to say that so far (with money still coming in) I have raised in excess of £700 for two island-based charities: DASH (The Drug Advice Service and Helpline) and the Manx Education Foundation ...who support and now run the Family and Mobile Library on the island.

DASH lost their funding from the government this year and the Family Library were dumped by them last year ... with the MEF raising funds for this invaluable service to survive for at least the next 3 years.

This year has been a journey for me .... losing a considerable amount of weight (a journey I am still on) and getting far better (and faster) at these endurance walks ..the next one being the End2End in September.

Thanks, in advance, for any support you can give to these charities ....:beerjug:

and see you in a couple weeks or so.:)
Hugs as always

It's added to the schedule......................

I'm over this year with Mrs W.

JackoUK is over as well so he may be there too.

All the best and hope to see you:thumb2

I'm over again This Friday....:beerjug:

Found out my great aunt used to be the land lady of the Mitre Pub back in the 80's, so I'll be calling in for a pint and a look around over the next week

see you all there :D

I'll make it to this one year I promise, Footpassanger this year (As I'd cancelled my prebooking over the winter as wasn't "feeling it" :blast ) ....I sail across early Sat morning dock Douglas at 07:15.

Have booked for TT2014 already, riding over with a friend (that has never been to the TT before) as MissB will be busy with new Foal by then.

Have a good TT you lot.
Stay Frosty.

Chris

Unfortunately I am not going to make it on Tuesday. There's far too much going on this TT week, as always! Apologies.

Spotted this on the IOMTT forum

The mitre hotel - kirkmichael

Went here yesterday for dinner and was absolutely disgusted with the whole experience. First we had to queue up for the hot plate meals that were heated up microwave crap, I had to stop the lady serving it up on polystyrene trays and ask for a plate. I had a burger that was out of a tin, raw in the middle served with a hand ful of chips. My husband had cottage pie which was tasteless and such a small portion he had it finished by the time mine was dished out to me. At no point did anyone ask if things were ok. And what did this pleasure cost £20 for something that was worse than a burger van, infact a burger van would be al a carte compared to this place. By all means have a drink there but forget about food - oh and I saw the girl gathering up the plastic cups and take them to the kitchen probably to wash them up and reuse them. As you can tell I am not a happy bunny and neither were the rest of the people in our group .

Best have some tea before I go out:D

Ditto...should be there earlier now...chaos this week

The above has been passed-on to the MD of the Brewery...Mrs Wideload is his PA ;)

Can you locals start picking up after your dogs please?

I've Never seen so much dogshit as i have on the pavements in Douglas this year.

Due to the cutbacks people don’t seem to be buying the little shit bags anymore they all seem to be using the Clint Eastwood method

Apologies

Sorry I had to leave rather abruptly, terribly rude but had a work thing!

Nice to meet those that turned up, will keep an eye out for future meets.

Hope you all enjoy the rest of the TT and the weather stays fine.:Motomartin
