Well....for such a well-mentioned, and obviously well respected organisation, MY first dealings with them are almost certainly going to be my last!!
The story...
Ordered a light guard and pillion footpeg lowering kit: 10th May 2005.
Confirmation e-mails from TT Germany / UK the same day.
No further info regarding delivery, so sent an e-mail politely asking for maybe some sort of "update / estimated delivery / delay / etc", on the 1st June 2005....no reply.
Sent ANOTHER query e-mail 10th June 2005 ......no reply.
Sent an e-mail to Pia Diskowski at TT Germany 14th June 2005....no reply.
Got home this afternoon...parcel !!! Yeeeeeaaaaahhhh!!
Opened the parcel..... both items and a TT catologue / price list.
When I had a gooooooood look at the gear....yuk!!...the peg lowering kit (£41.50 worth!!) looks like it was welded together by a cross-eyed, blind,one-handed monkey!! The finish is appalling, so this is going back, I'm not even opening the poly bag it came in. As for the light guard.....a bit of clear plastic , two long bolts. two washers and two lengths of plastic tube, and instructions (?) in German of course. (OK don't need to be a rocket scientist to suss out the fitting, but....) Undid the existing screws, lined up the protector...and the damn holes don't align....yipppee!! OK with a bit of wiggling / manipulation of the lens / bolts...it fits, but come on...£14.77 for something that you have to "wiggle" to align (mmmmm I expect a comment or two about that!!).
So folks, is this the "norm" for TT?? and should I "roll-over" 'cos its TT? nah, to hell with that, the guard I can live with, but as for the metal abhorition they deem to be £41 worth of technical equipment...my ar...backside, they can have that back.
Anyone else been delivered (eventually) similar quality crap by TT?
