TT Luggage Rack - Anyone....

Yes, I fitted one about 3 weeks ago. It didn't fit straight on and required some modification. I had to trim down the size of one of the spacers as the bracket where it bolts on to the sub frame at the side was not wide enough. The black paint finish is not looking too durable either. I would look for an alternative to be honest. Have you considered the Hattech?

I have one of these

If fact this might be for sale. I bought it but it has never been fitted. Still has all new fittings etc.

If you don't mind please post a pic without the rear seat. Can you remove the grabbar on the back and keep the plate in place?

Bob,

not seen the Hattech - I'll Google for it - in the meantime any chance of a few pics with the TT rack on yours?

Thanks
Dave

I know the type you mean now and it's not really what I'm after as I don't like the look too much and I also wanted to gain a "normal" type grab rail.

Dave I also have one of these on mine. It fits okay but isn't quite 'straight'. Agree that the black finish isn't great but overall a much better rack than the original and very solid.

Dave,

I'll get the camera out tomorrow and take some shots for you.

I've bought the plate of Swooper and intend to make my own subframe so I can mount it like the other TT version (lower and with a grab rail).

Bob, I could still do with a few pics to give me some ideas for the subframe.

Thanks for all the info folks.
