Couple of Q's:

What are the best levers out there for getting a tyre off on the side of the road?

Can you use moose in tubes, if yes which is the best?

Ahh! The eternal question 'which is the best?' I bought the best value leavers that gave me the best range of sizes, along with a couple or rim protectors.
The whole lot (2x15" 2x18" 2xrim protectors) cost me about £28.00 and I haven't bent one yet :thumb2

It was recommended to me to get some with a brand name I forget right now. They came as a set of three 2x12" 1x18" IMO 12" is too short to be any good on the larger bikes, and a around £40.00 are very expensive too.

Do a search on ebay, they'll have loads on there.

Not sure about Moose in the tubes, unless you mean something like the finelec stuff in a can 'you'll be needing a pump/compressor of sorts with that too'.

Slime works well in the tubes too.

Val.

I tried a mousse (moose are too big for most tyres) once after a puncture in a tubed tyre and it got me all of a mile before giving up. Fortunately, that was how far I was from the local Honda dealer who had new tyres waiting for me.

the efectivness of utraseal and slime also depends on the type of tube that is fitted
butil tubes tend to tear apart when punctured in a way that the old rubber tubes did not i will never use butil tubes for this reason.
what i did find that the rubber tubes did not lose presure as quickly (didnot need to top up the tirepresures for about a month and a half aginst 10days) still checked them before jumping on the bike
