In particular the ones fitted as standard on the 1190 KTM.

My rear tyre loses gradually loses pressure starting off at about 4psi the first day then slowing down until it stops leaking at about 18psi. It's never really bothered me too much up to now but I'm about to bugger off on a 4k mile trip and don't want to be messing about topping up the pressure unless I really have to.

I'm toying with the idea of putting slime or some other similar product in to stop this because I had the tyre removed and refitted when the bike had its first service and it didn't solve the problem.

Anyone else had this or is it just me and I need to man up and get on with it?

I had something similar after my first 1190A tyre change, root cause transpired to be an issue with the rim seal/bladder which had been damaged as part of said change. Dealer had to fit a new rim seal/bladder to correct it.

Both my tyres would loose a bit of air when I first got mine and would need a few psi bunging back in, maybe once a week or so. They settled down though after about 1500-2000 miles and now hold their pressure ok. I was inclined to think it was more about the 'rim tape' that seals the spoke nipples than the tyres seating properly :nenau

I just had some new tyres fitted this week and so far they are keeping their pressure; I'll report back if anything changes.

Hmmm, I wonder if banging the pressure up with my compressor much the same as I'd do if fitting a new tubeless tyre would help?

It's a known issue and covered under warranty

As Andres has already eluded to .... it's the rim tape

I'll be giving bumping the pressure up to see if that helps and see how it goes then it'll need a service when I get home so if it's still losing pressure It can be dealt with under warranty then.

now it becomes clear why they put tyre pressure monitoring on them.
