That's a brilliant write-up Millard! Well worth looking at the photographs... Really enjoyed meeting you and Frank (Old Codger). I endorse everything you say in the post accompanying the photos. Ian and I just missed the 10.15 ferry so had to wait til midnight for the next one. The joys of living on the Isle of Wight!

I don't know if it was all the diet coke I drank (dangerous stuff) or fatigue but dropped the bike going down the farm track to home. Ended up with my leg pinned underneath so had to wake my glorious wife from her slumbers at 1am to ease it up so I could get from under (thank God for mobiles). Cosmetic damage and a smashed indicator lens. Could be worse! I really must go on that BMW Off road course one of these days... Anyway, great evening all round.

Damn!!! shame to hear it ended in a long wait and a low point (sorry) for you.
Bet the missus was well pleased to see you though eh? :handbag
I was more fortunate, having a pint or two of London Pride in the King and Queen at 10.00 just rounded off a smashin evening.
Hope to do it again soon, IF the missus gives you a pass :hide

Why not bring her along next time?
Alternatively get some knobblies on it and come out on our next green lane ride.

Frank, in spite of generous offers from Ian and Tim, I just scraped up enough loose shrapnel in me pockets for a hograost roll :thumb

I think I have said somewhere could of been on a PM that if you miss that 10.15pm boat you is buggered, happened to us once when we went there last yr.
Just before the railway bridge there is a 24 hr garage in Lymington where you can get a bite to eat and a coffee or simply carry onto Pompey.
Sorry you dropped the bike, hope not too much damage only your pride.

Tim

Glad to hear that you are ok .Sorry to hear about the dropped bike. Heavy beggars when they decide to lay down tho.

Cant begin to imagine being a fly on the wall to your mobile call
"You what dear ? Do you know what time it is ? You,ve done what ? You are just not safe out on your own ! You want me to what ? ....................................

Wightlink ferries and timetables now theres a black art to understand. I come over with the truck Pompey to Fishbourne afternoons occasionally Going back evening if I miss the 2130 midweek its a 2hr wait unless its a Friday Saturday Bank holiday or an R in the month + fuel surcharge of course.
Regards Frank
