Hi guys, Anybody goes to turkey this summer? I will be in Izmir- Cesme from 18th june to 6th August.Anybody might need help!! I can give lots of info about surrounding area Hotels, Campings, Garages, Boats the Greece( Returning to uk I always use Boat Cesme to chios-Athens) Etc..

Just saw your post as I am normally on the ADV forums. I will be riding down the west coast through Izmir and towards Kaz from the start of July to the end of July. What are your plans ?

Coming to Dalyan for 28th May.

Looking for somewhere to stay near Izmir and Canakkale on the way back.

Well, I will be staying in cesme ( I was born in there)which is 80 km from izmir.Beautifull place please check out on google, its 150 km to ephesus, 170 km to bergama(pergamon) Assos , troy and gallipoli a nice place to visit too.
I will arrive to cesme from 18th june will be there until 6th August.Hotel bookings is no problem I know llots of hotels around I can help you with that.

Will be travelling on the "fly" with no where booked.

Tent and B&B as we go.

You can see where we intend on going and will be stopping near Izmir going down and Canakkale on the way back.

Will also be looking at internet when we can, so any place near these 2 you could suggest.
On way back to visit Ephesus, Assos and Pergamon. Then Troy and Gallipoli day after.

well there are nice old villages around cesme like eryhtrai( ildir) its one of ephesus old town too there is a theatre and roman baths too, i would say if you like eating fish the adress is cesme.beautifull fish restorants and there are beautifull sandy beaches.Just google it for cesme then you can get some idea.If you want to visit nice small greek island called chios is just 40 mins.

Mate, I will certainly appreciate your help at some point. My plan is to leave at the beginning of July, take a moto train from Holland to Livigno in Italy and then go through Greece, Bulgaria, Turkey and...well that's where I got stuck. Initial plan was a ferry to Odessa and go back via Ukraine but the only ferry (UKR Ferry) does not seem to operate there anymore. I thought I could get a ferry back to Italy or at least to Athens but am having problems to find anything that takes bikes. If you have any suggestions please share.

I believe there is still a ferry from Istanbul to the Ukraine, but I'm not 100% on that. There's one from Trabzon to Sochi in Russia, but that's a lift on lift off ferry and you may not have Russia in your plans.

I am now 100% on there being a ferry between Istanbul and Odessa. I was just having lunch in a restaurant with a Bosporus view and the UKR Ferry sailed past.

Maybe it was a freight only ship? I could not find this route on their website:

That I can't be sure of, I just saw the ferry sailing past, I couldn't see the deck. it's worth calling them rather than just relying on the website as I find the information is often out of date.
