Well, that rash promise sure bit me on the arse.

"Of course its a lot of money for a bike, darling, and, yes, i know i already have one bike that doesn't move but look - if we ever need the cash, i'll chop it in. Honest".

That was two years and one new house ago.

Left the bike at the shop last weekend and spent most of yesterday pining.

September 04 bike - problem with the discs warping and the fork yoke bolts losening...but the front wheel stayed in roughly the same place so i just got on with riding. No other probs - and had more all round fun on this than any bike i've ever ridden - including, if i'm honest, R1's and 998's, which - after a while - just left me feeling like i wasn't really using the bike, but was about to get arrested.

I didn't realise that a recent 6am backroad blast from London to Devon would be the last decent run - but what a sign-off: 225 miles to a tank, making v.'brisk progress', no aches, huge grins. What a fabulous way to kill flies...

Question now - what to buy next Spring? Is there an upgraded 12 on the way with the more peppy motor and the fork / gearbox / disc glitches fixed?

Should I save cash andi get agricultural with MG Griso (looks sooo good).

Or will Duke revise the Multistrada and make it look less like a Darlek?

Here's to a winter of reading brochures and plotting...

Happy riding guys.
