Anyone interested in the TWATS Challenge?
It's a kind of treasure hunt. usually just a group of friends but this time we thought we'd open it up.
The essence is that you have to get a 'selfie' near 5 different places beginning with T. W. A. T. S. Some of them contain a mountain walk, some are a straight ride and snap. there might even be some simple off-road involved, that's up to you. You are given the grid references and simple description first thing in the morning and have 30 mins to plan your route. The route is usually about 150 miles + some proper hill walking. Then it's simply the shortest time back. That's the essence of it. It moves around the country and this time it's Wales.
We usually camp over the weekend. It's generally in a place with hotels too.
Looking at the 23rd/24th July 2016 this time. The precise venue is revealed a few days before but the campsite will be pre-booked.
The only cost is the campsite and a donation to Mountain Rescue. We might stretch to a trophy this time.
