twice as fast FIREFOX new version 3.5

Waited a day or so before removing, but guess what.... Now it's fine. Starts up very fast, go figure...

I 'll Keep it now...

Mozilla are pretty good at fixing things......they may have slipped a patch in there and got it working after the initial release :thumb2

I might give it a try it meself soon........:augie

I don't want to contradict the above, I've no experience of Dell; but I do have a Broadcom WiFi tingy in my HP laptop.

When I first tried Ubuntu, it wouldn't recognise the Broadcom; I had to go back to Windoze to get to the Ubuntu site to find a driver that worked. No probs after installing it. However..

I uninstalled that version (8.1.0 I think) and installed 9.0.4, the latest offering. That found the WiFi straight off. Of course, it might be different on a Dell...

Dave.

i've only tried the latest ubuntu, mepis,gOS,mint and mandrake, so i could keep d/l and trying different variants until i lose the will to live.

strangely, the mepis live cd worked fine, then stopped on full install :nenau

or i could just try nlite on an xp install and have it running in 30 mins :mmmm
