yes they will if you use the complete sc system, just remove the ex flapper cables and control unit and tape up the connector,no fault will show on the dash but a fault will be logged in the ecu.

For what it's worth I had two of the 1150gs's back in the day. I remember the dirt times saw one in blue and white and just had to own one. It became my mission.

I struggled with white finger on the throttle side so bad I got rid of two bikes. I was gutted. I do accept there may have been throttle balance issues etc but no investigations or remedy helped.

I was put off the GS for many years and owned a succession of other bikes.

However, I bought. Twin Cam 1200gsa, last of air cooled in June 2015.

I have done 10'000 trouble free miles and love it. Yes it vibes a little bit no more than you would expect. It's night and day for me between the bikes. I love it.

Is it too good to now want a LC GSA when I can afford it??????

Cheers tog well I done the deal and really surprised how much more responsive the twin cam is and love it already can't wait for our little group of riders biking holiday later this year over to Croatia
So here's the new bike

Thanks for the advice autogs picked up the bike today and you know what's is like just want to personalise it with the exhaust and hid light and maybe treat it to some led lamps for the spot lights as they seem worse than terrible !..

On the lights, use the adjuster to adjust the dip up as high as it will go without blinding others then get the fogs and adjust them so there cut of is the same as the dip - it's worth the effort

Just gone the CREE route on my bike. Well impressed. Nice crisp pure white light at the fraction of the cost of HID and just plug and play..

Wait till you get the straight through pipes on it....transforms the bike. Also got mine remapped which bought both smoothness and even more responsiveness. Love it!

If you get used to using a carb balancer you can move the roughness to where ever you want. Or to put it another way put the smoothness at the rev point where you usually sit.

Nice looking bike by the way. Don't you have enough space to park it level?

Mine is the older single cam but I'd have to try very hard to find anything all round as good. Akraprovic Ti shotgun exhaust, power commander, comfy seat and a few farkles what's not to like? Wilber's bouncy bits are the next upgrade and I'll eventually get it Hilltopped.

I like the look of the new Honda Africa Twin but Im sure its blandness will soon wear thin.

My only gripe with the GS has been the handlebar vibration and funny backwards grip angle. Rox anti vibe risers and Renthal McGras bend Fatbars have kept the same grip height but solved the thumb pains and cut the vibration levels. Not cheap but A LOT less than a new bike that I don't really want.

I am wondering what's wrong with my single cam bike, no vibrations, no white fingers, no fingers gone to sleep. It's just had it's 36K service nothing untoward showing up on BMW diagnostics etc and she can hold 7K revs in top for as long as I want and is safe from prying eyes and side turns etc!

My brother and I both have single cam 08 reg bikes. Mine has 55K miles and feels a lot more free revving but can be buzzy through the bars. His felt smoother but comparatively sluggish.

I rode them back to back this morning. His taller Kahedo saddle is more bottom friendly than my standard height Kadeho.
Even with my Rox anti vibe handlebars, his bike feels smoother than mine.
His gearbox is better than mine. (easier shifting and less likely to clunk
Mine has a Power Commander but feels a whole lot more free revving. It can't just be the fuelling. Cant it?
His Metzler Tourance tyres with similar tread wear to my Conti TKC-70 feel very slow to turn. They make the bike feel heavy
Mine has a 55K front shock and a 30K rear shock. Both of his shocks have 20K

His bike was pootled about from new doing a few holiday tours and about 10K miles in 4 years. Mine was properly ridden by its original owner and used for commuting doing 35K in 4 years. Brother's bike has free'd up a great deal but I suspect the engine is still tight even though it has 25K on the clock. I would like to see comparative power figures with and without the Power Commander.

Overall my bike feels a lot lighter than his yet they are virtually identical models. It can't be entirely that mine was run in properly and his was allowed to stay tight.

Have you both got the same gearbox?? Wasn't 2008 the year that the "enduro" gearbox became an option??

I thought the enduro gearboxes just a different ratio first gear any way, the ex missus had it on her 2010 twin cam

I suspect brother's bike might have the lower first gear but in all other aspects its the same. His gearbox certainly feels slicker than mine so maybe the over-long running in has done some good in there. My gearboxs rattle in neutral so maybe a rebuild is on the horizon.

Back again guys and a little advice now got the bike all set up like I wanted with lights etc
The bike rides fine until you open it up in the higher revs feels like the clutch slipping it's not High mileage and only happens when on the go and opening the throttle right up was hoping it might be something to do with the butter fly valve in the exhaust so now swapped for the full Remus headers and akro end can anyone else had experience of this as have a big ride over to Croatia and want to get all problems ironed out before I go ?
Cheers

Check the fluid level in the clutch master cylinder, it will rise as the clutch wears and you will need to take some out?

When I de catted the exhaust I noticed a slightly more lift near the red line, along with what felt like the clutch letting go a bit.
My opinion is that it's the traction control kicking in. Peak power would be about there?
Wouldn't worry about it. Reckon there'll be no mistaking a slipping clutch if it ever happens.
Flappy valve would be fully open much further down the revs. If it hasn't seized!

Cheers guys for the advice the new bike does indeed have traction control and my older one had no such luxuries I'll have a look at the clutch res and maybe remove a little fluid but the more I think of it , it could well be the traction control as I've no experience of a bike with tc
